Men’s Captains Day – Saturday 2nd July.

Men’s Captain, Paul McLoughlin hosts his Captains Day this coming Saturday 2nd July.

The bar will be open for refreshments all day and Durkins will be serving food in the clubhouse from 2:00pm. Prize-giving will begin at 9:00pm in the clubhouse.

The timesheet is still open in the clubhouse or you can put your name down for a morning or afternoon tee time by texting James on 0879677055. The weather forecast is good for the day so please come out and support what should be a great occasion.

Junior Golf Camp – 11th to 15th July

Ballaghaderreen Golf Club will be hosting its annual Summer Golf Camp from Monday 11th July – Friday 15th July. The camp will consist of a PGA professional giving coaching lessons each day mixed with golf games and challenges for the children.

Weekly News Round Up

Well done to the Jimmy Bruen team who defeated Co Sligo in the first round of the competition yesterday evening. After winning one of three home matches the pressure was on the two away teams to deliver and Mark Frain, Enda McGreevy, Joe McCann and Richard Spelman responded with stunning victories to ensure that we progress to the next round. Well done Lads.
Sundays 18 hole Stableford was won by Sean McHugh with 40 points, in second place was Basil Clancy with 37 points. Congratulations!!
The sheet is now up for the gents matchplay. If you wish to enter please put your name on the sheet by the end of the week as the competition will commence at the end of the month.
Peter Keenan was the most recent winner of the members 50/50 draw.
Best of luck to the mixed team who take on Enniscrone during the week and best of luck also to the Pierce Purcell team who play Carrick on Shannon this coming Sunday. Support would be appreciated for the home matches.
The gents 9 hole competition continues every Thursday evening at 7 pm.

Weekly Round Up

Last Sunday the Gents played for the Michael Galvin memorial trophy. Liam Freeman was the winner with a great score of 62 Nett. Second was Martin Greene on 67 and third was Dermot Neilan with a 70.  Next Sunday the gents competition is an 18 hole stableford.

Best of luck to the Seniors who play Carrick On Shannon on Wednesday evening and and also to the Jimmy Bruen team who play Rosses Point on Sunday evening next. Please support if you can.

A 9 Hole Social Scramble with refreshments begins this evening.  Check in at 6:30pm for a 7:00pm tee off.  Entry is only €2 and all are welcome, especially beginners.

Get into Golf

The club are running a “Get Into Golf” program in the coming weeks with the aim of encouraging increased participation in the sport.

It will kick off on Monday 25th April @ 7:00pm with a taster session from PGA Professional Aidan Moran which will be followed by refreshments in the clubhouse.  The plan then will be to continue with an 8 week program which will include 4 more group lessons with Aidan and other events with club members.

The program is open to all adults so please come along and “Get Into Golf”
